Using Prestartr Offline
The Prestartr app is designed to help you keep working even when you don't have an internet connection. This guide explains how data is saved to your device, what you can do while offline, and how to ensure your work is synced when you come back online.

How Your Data Gets Saved
You do not need to manually "download" data every time. The app automatically fetches and saves data to your local storage in the following scenarios:
Logging In:

Single Tenant: If you belong to one organization, data is fetched immediately after you log in.
Multiple Tenants: If you belong to multiple organizations, data is fetched in the background as soon as you select which tenant you want to access.
Checking Your Data: You can verify how much offline data has been downloaded to your device by navigating to Settings Page -> Show Downloaded Data.
Working with Forms Offline
The Forms module is the most active part of the offline experience.
Offline Availability: The app stores the most recent 100 forms (including linked tables and templates) for offline use.
Creating Forms: You can create new forms offline for the Jobs, People, and Companies modules.
Submitting Forms: When you submit a form offline, it is temporarily stored in a "queue." Once your device reconnects to the internet, the app will automatically process the queue and submit the data.
Uploading Photos/Files: similar to forms, any images you attach are added to a queue and will automatically upload once you are back online.
Important Restriction for Plant Forms: You cannot create offline forms for the Plant module. This is because Plant forms require an odometer reading that must be verified via the internet (API) at the time of submission.
Viewing Module Data (Read-Only)
For the Company, Job, People, and Plant modules, the app functions in Read-Only mode while offline. This means you can view information but cannot make changes to the core records.
Note on Forms Tabs within Modules:
When viewing a specific Job, Person, or Company, the "Forms" tab will only display forms if they are included in the 100 forms currently stored on your device.
Tips & Troubleshooting
Refreshing Data: If your offline data seems out of date, you must manually sync the data from the Settings page while you have an internet connection.
Filtering Forms: When searching for forms offline, the filter will only search through the 100 forms stored on your device, not the entire database.
Performance: To keep the app running fast, we limit storage to essential data. Storing thousands of forms could slow down your device and cause performance issues.
Dropdown Menus: All dropdown options in forms are saved locally, so you will still be able to make selections while offline.
