Exploring the Scheduler

Learning in the basics of the Scheduler in Prestartr

Exploring the Scheduler with Toufic

This guide will teach you how to use the Scheduler module to visually plan and assign your people and plant to jobs and tasks.

A key focus will be understanding that the Scheduler can operate in three distinct modes, Standard, Direct Allocation, and Work Order, each tailored to a different resourcing workflow and enabled by specific back-end settings.

For each of these setups, we will walk through the core process of creating a new allocation by dragging and dropping resources onto the schedule, as well as how to manage existing assignments by editing or deleting them.

Toufic is here to help!

Standard Scheduler

The Standard Scheduler is uses Allocations for either Staff or Plant.

To Add a New Allocation, from the Scheduler click and drag either Staff or Plant to the desired Job.

The Allocations menu will open.

To create your allocation, you must provide at least the two following points of information:

  • Work Order Name
  • Ensure the Start Time is earlier than the End Time.

Update and fill out the other fields as desired. Click Save to add the Allocation to the Scheduler.

Once you have created your Allocation, you can right click to Edit or Delete the Scheduler Work Order. If you Allocation requires Staff or Plant, drag and drop the desired resources from the right hand panel.

Upon allocation, you will see an Allocation Warning:

  • Click Confirm to assign to all future slots.
  • Click Cancel to assign to the current empty slot.

You have successfully created a Scheduler Work Order.

Right-click to Edit Delete, or Remove allocations from a Scheduler Work Order.

Direct Allocation Scheduler

The Direct Allocation Scheduler moves Staff or Plant directly under Job lanes for each Zone.

To create a Direct Allocation, click and drag either a Staff or Plant from the resources panel on the right.

When a resource has been Assigned, they will be greyed out in the resources panel. Each resource will also display a relevant status such as Available or Assigned.

You can Edit or Delete an allocation by right-clicking on the allocation on the Scheduler.

Deleting an allocation will update it's status from Assigned to Available.

When editing an allocation, make changes as required.

Click Save to confirm and update the Scheduler allocations.

Work Order Scheduler

The Work Order Scheduler requires the creation of a Work Order from the Work Orders module. See Add a New Work Order for details on this process.

From the Scheduler, you will see the available Work Order Allocation.

In the resources table on the right, click the Services tab to access your Services List.

The services listed here will have been setup in your Catalogues prior to this.

See Cost Controls Catalogue for more details.

Click and drag your desired Service onto the Work Order Allocation.

You will see a confirmation dialog - click Confirm to add the service to the allocation.

Depending on the service used, you may need to add additional Staff or Plant to the allocation.

Click and drag from the resources panel to add them to the Work Order allocation..

Right-click to remove a Staff or Plant allocation from the Scheduler Work Order.
